Becki Newton

The birthplace of Becki Newton was New Haven, Connecticut, Becki Newton grew up at Guilford, Connecticut. She's of English and Czech origin and started performing performances and musicals at local theaters. She also attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with the degree of a B.A. with a major in European History. at Penn, Newton was a part of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Newton, after graduating from Penn University in 2006, moved into New York City where she was offered television roles by companies such as Olive Garden. Newton played Amanda Tanen from 2006-2010 in the comedy drama Ugly Betty. Alongside co-star Michael Urie, Newton co-hosted the Ugly Betty podcast, which was created by Michael Urie. She also appeared in ABC.com's Mode After Hours webisode series. Ugly Betty ended in 2010, after the show's four seasons of popularity that allowed for a series-ending. Newton made an appearance at New York City Center's Encores in late 2009. presentation of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was directed by Jerry Zaks. She played Molly Gray opposite her real-life husband Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton appeared in Love Bites. The hour-long romantic comedy was developed by executive producer Cindy Chupack, who worked for Sex and the City. NBC first announced its intention to take on Love Bites in May 2010. But, when Newton disclosed her pregnancy and her co-star Jordana Spiro was legally bound to her Show My Boys to continue, it was pushed forward to mid-season.
